This week, NordVPN released a new update that will allow its users to select their server by city. Now customers can connect to servers with superior connection quality. The city list will be available in countries where NordVPN has servers in multiple locations.
According to NordVPN, the new update allows users to easily find the server of their choice. In some areas, selecting the appropriate server may also increase browsing speed. Selecting a server by city will be accessible on all of NordVPN’s main apps: Windows, macOS,iOS, Android and even the native Android Smart TV app.
NordVPN currently has 5,109 servers available in 62 countries and their network is growing rapidly. The company adds new servers monthly to over 8 million Internet users worldwide. As it continues to expand to other countries and territories, NordVPN remains focused on its users’ experiences.
“Our mission is to make NordVPN the most user-friendly VPN and combine it with cutting-edge security technologies…Our users can expect continuous improvement of the service, including new features to ensure NordVPN is simple to set up and easy to use.”
said Ruby Gonzalez, NordVPN’S head of communication at NordVPN.
NordVPN isn’t the only company improving consumer cybersecurity. SAM Seamless network, an Israeli startup, has created software to protect local area networks and iOt devices via internet routers. Unlike its competitors, like Dojo, Open VPN and F-Secure, SAM’s security system doesn’t require any physical hardware, dramatically reducing its cost. While most cybersecurity boxes for connected devices cost around $200, SAM’S software is injected remotely. Currently, SAM has partnerships in Germany and the U.K but they are looking to expand further in North America and Europe. In the U.S, they have partnered with ADT to integrate their technology into its security systems. As Gartner predicts that there will be 20.4 million connected devices by 2020, iOt cybersecurity is an increasingly relevant issue.
